I hated Tom Robbins and Vonnegut before I finished their books. Then I did and, for the most part I love them. Roadside Attraction was bizarre and poked a lot of fun at the totally sexist Catholic Church (but not because they’re sexist) and the portrait of an asshole in Champions reached a level of irreverance that…oh, now I get it…appealed to the fart smelling teenage boy in me.
