The tornado swept through Metropolipolitan City like a push broom clearing rat turds and roaches from a greasy spoon floor and tossing cigarette ashes in its wake. It turned up Broadway into the theater district and headed toward the sold out performance of Rent Cats in the Chorus Line, the one thousandth performance with diva Stella Limelight guest starring one time only in the lead role.

It tossed aside SUVs like spaghetti, Hummers like soup cans, even hurled a city bus through the window of a Starbucks. Pedestrians climbed lamp posts only to ride them like surfboards in the wind. Then, there. Then and there — swooping in from the clouds, surrounded by lightning, Superman flew into the heart of the maelstrom. He wrestled the whirlwind to the ground using a combination of super speed and super breath. He thrashed that twister against the pavement until it faded to nothing more than a breath of dust.

Swooping in from the clouds, surrounded by lightning, Superman flew into the heart of the maelstrom. He wrestled the whirlwind to the ground using a combination of super speed and super breath.
