“ARE YOU SURE THIS IS A GOOD IDEA, Master Bruce?” Alfred asked as he straightened the line of Bruce Wayne’s jacket. “You already have to juggle Wayne Enterprises and the caped crusader.”

Bruce turned to face Alfred so his faithful butler could straighten his tie. “Nonsense, Alfred. This is important for the Wayne brand. I want to make Wayne Enterprises and the Bat Man synonymous with American values and virtue. And nothing is more American than baseball, and the American flag.” After this afternoon’s ceremony Bruce Wayne and his corporation would transform from an image of corporate greed to an icon of American values

As a boy, Bruce wanted to be Jack Armstrong, the All-American Boy, hero of every teenager’s fantasy. It sure beat getting pantsed and dunked in the gym bathroom every day prep school. Try as he might, however, Bruce remained the class dweeb with shorts, braces and four eyes. It didn’t matter that the Waynes founded Muckety Prep, or that his old man sat on the board of directors. In fact, his old man’s pull at the school made the situation worse.
