Which is worse?

A miserable person trying to spread their misery to you?

A miserable person trying to cheer you up so they can feel better about themselves?

A happy person who insists you should be just as happy as they are?

The only joke I ever wrote:(1)

A mother, who thought the world should be as happy as she was, spotted her son pouting on the couch. “It takes twice as many muscles to frown as it does to smile,” she told him.(2)

Her son said, “You should be happy I’m exercising.”

(1)A real joke, not a comic scene.

(2)A popular proverb that has no basis in fact, and yet people feel compelled to share it with me.
