You might be interested in my recent article “Running the Numbers on the Gospels: Statistical Analysis of the Gospel of Matthew,” in the International Journal of Religion and Spirituality in Society. I do a one-to-one comparison of the Christian Right platform with the Sermon on the Mount and extend it to the Gospel as well to see how well their platform conforms to the text. It’s off by a factor of 10:1 and that’s being generous to the Christian Right.
